Information about the School
Lever Edge Primary Academy is a large two form entry primary school with 420 pupils on roll in the main school and 91 pupils in our nurseries.
Lever Edge has been a school for over sixty years, converting to academy status in January 2011.
The academy provides quality education for children of Great Lever, and it has been graded as Outstanding by Ofsted.
We believe that children who attend Lever Edge Primary Academy leave with lively, enquiring minds and with a confidence in who they are, in their values, and in their contribution to our community. We achieve this by good teaching, by setting high expectations and by making sure that learning isn't just what happens in the classroom.
We strive to give our children the best start to their learning before they move on to secondary school.
Our school has fourteen classrooms and two large purpose built nurseries, one for babies and two year olds and one for three year olds. There are also designated music and drama rooms and a design technology suite. There is a well-equipped hall with a stage and a separate dining room, which provides healthy, freshly cooked meals each day.
Externally, there are two multi-purpose games areas, a running track/trail, a purpose built sports hall, a Forest School and a large grassed sports pitch.
The playgrounds and outside spaces are exciting places for pupils, incorporating a conservation area, outside story and play areas, allotments and a variety of play equipment.
We are proud of our school and this is reflected in the quality of the building, which is very well maintained and very clean. It is also reflected in the very good behaviour of our pupils, the quality of work displayed in the classrooms and around the school, and the high academic standards that are achieved.
Our staff members make every effort to ensure that our pupils work to the best of their ability, that they are polite and caring towards others, and that they feel good about themselves. In addition to class teachers, we also provide specialist teaching in the following areas: Music, Computing, P.E. and Modern Foreign Languages.
